Oxfordshire City & County

Text too small?
Our work really does make a difference
In conversation with a volunteer over a coffee at a weekly drop-in lunch session, one older man said that he liked coming on Wednesdays because it was one day he could guarantee being warm: his heating at home was not doing a good job and was costing him more than he could afford so his house was always cold.
The volunteer picked up on this lead and introduced him to an Information and Advice worker who talked to him about the benefits to which he might be entitled and about help with heating costs.
As a result, the man is now £47 a week better off and has a new heating and insulation system worth in excess of £3000, purchased with grants - all of this help to which he was entitled, but completely unaware of, which prevented him from accessing the help through more direct routes or doors labelled ‘help’.

He is now a warmer and much happier man.

Regular Giving

Why give regularly to Age Concern Oxfordshire?
The number of older people grows every year – especially those in frail health – so we cannot stand still. We need to plan ahead, expanding our services to reach out to all those who need us. We can only do this if we have a dependable and growing regular income. By donating to Age Concern Oxfordshire, you can be sure that your money will be used locally for local older people.

How much should I give?
That is entirely up to you. You can also choose how often you want to give – whether annually, quarterly or monthly. For example, you may choose to give a large amount each year, or a few pounds each month.

How should I give regularly?
You choose when and how much you would like to give. The most cost effective way to do this is through a Direct Debit or Standing Order . If you like, you can make a regular commitment over a number of years. Your help in this way can allow us plan for the future. Please call us on 01235 849400 if you would like to discuss this option.

You may prefer a donation to go to Age Concern Oxfordshire instead of, or as well as, flowers at their funeral. This may also be something you would like to think about if you are arranging the funeral of a friend or relative.

Please contact us on 01235 849400 or we would be grateful to receive donations sent directly to us at St Edmund House, 39 West St Helen Street, Abingdon, Oxon OX14 5BW.
