The Big Knit 2010
The Big Knit is back and this year the theme is Winter Warmth
Thanks to all your support last year we raised a total of £2119.37 to go towards our helpline and other services that can promote the importance of eating well to keep healthy.
We are now asking for your help again this year in knitting as many little hats to help us reach our target of 10,000!
During the winter of 2008/2009, 82% of excess deaths in England were of people aged 65 and over.
As well as raising much needed funds, the Big Knit 2010 will contribute towards improving winter warmth and safety for older people throughout Oxfordshire.
This year we shall be knitting the small hats only which will then appear on innocent smoothie bottles in Sainsbury’s and Boots stores across the country.
Enclosed are some patterns for beginners, intermediates and experts to use as guides. We received so many creative hats last year and are looking forward to seeing many more of your designs, so feel free to be as creative as you like!
